Olympic Sparring |

All of our students are trained in WTF (World TaeKwonDo Federation) & Olympic style sparring. Sparring brings out the best of the each student's abilities, in control, power, speed, balance and concentration. Many KAT Shawnee students have taken positions in the gold (1st place), silver (2nd place), and the bronze (3rd place) medals at each event they have participated in. There is a close bond each student has, in encouraging each other in one event after another, and is a unique family experience. We offer a well structured and balanced sparring training for the student to learn and practice their skills along with teaching respect for their opponent as well as self respect. Discipline, concentration, and respect are a key factor in sparring. You are trained in these key areas before you are asked to enter into any sparring event. Each student is encouraged to attend tournaments that are held throughout the year, to gain knowledge of their level of skill and techniques. Tournaments are a great way for students to find out their strength and weakness. It is the best learning tool to know your skill, discipline, and control. But it is also great fun to able to witness some of the world's best athletes come to test their skill level Weight, gender, and skill level at any tournament event determine your sparring partners. During class time it is determined by weight, and skill level, this allows all students to perform at their maximum best. |
